One of the most anticipated games of the year has finally arrived. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Switch via physical stores and digital download on the Nintendo eShop, for $59.99.

In New Horizons you’ll customize your character and travel to a deserted island. The island won’t be deserted for long as you harvest resources, build tools, and craft buildings and furniture. All this work will attract new island residents who want to join with your friendly community.

“In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can transport yourself to a virtual island paradise,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior VP. “With relaxing gameplay you can enjoy by yourself or with friends and family, the game is a breath of fresh island air.”

Nintendo will supply free updates throughout the year, starting today. The first update adds the seasonal holiday Bunny Day in April. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can also use NookLink to scan custom QR code patterns from New Leaf and Happy Home Designer using their smartphones, and download them to New Horizons.

New Horizons supports online and local multiplayer, though you’re limited to one island per Switch system. Up to four players can play locally on the same system and game cartridge, or up to eight with additional systems and games.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp mobile players can link their accounts to receive special items in New Horizons, and 50 Leaf Tickets for Pocket Camp.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Switch. It’s rated E for Everyone.

Soul Riders is a New Fantasy Book Series Based on Star Stable Online

Posted by | News | No Comments

Star Stable Entertainment is releasing the first book in a new fantasy series called Soul Riders, based on the Star Stable Online adventure game. The book series, like the game, is targeted at young readers ages 9-14.

The first book is Soul Riders: Jorvik Calling, written by Helena Dahlgren. It’s launching on March 24 at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other book retailers for $8.99.

The series features an all-girl team of horse enthusiasts called the Soul Riders. The Soul Riders unlock powers, bond with their horses, and embark on adventures to save the land of Jorvik. The books are designed to appeal to any young fantasy fans, even if they’ve never heard of Star Stable Online.

Lisa is a teenage girl who is still coming to terms with the tragic loss of her mother in a riding accident and has sworn never to go near a horse again until she met Starshine, a mysterious blue-maned steed who comes to her in dreams. New on the island of Jorvik, Lisa befriends Alex, Linda, and Anne. Under the guidance of mystical druids, they discover they each have a special bond to their horses that gives them magical powers. While trying to balance school, family, and friendships they have to figure out what it means to be a Soul Rider.

“Launching a trilogy of fantasy books based on the Star Stable story fulfills our long-term strategy to engage our players where their interests lie and further supports our vision to be a global entertainment company,” said Taina Malen, Chief Business Development Officer, Star Stable Entertainment. “Star Stable: Jorvik Calling captures the heart of Star Stable and is another way for teens and tweens to hear the message that is so important to us: you can be the hero of your own adventure.”

Soul Riders: Jorvik Calling will be available March 24. Star Stable Online is available on PC for free with paid subscription.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is now available on Nintendo Switch in physical retail and digital eShop, for $59.99.

As part of the rescue team, you’ll delve into randomly generated dungeons to defeat rogue pokémon while rescuing others. You’ll also be able to recruit other pokémon into your party. Over 400 pokémon can be found, including Mega Evolved pokémon like Charizard and Gengar.

This new enhanced remake includes updated visuals to create a storybook-like world, as well as Auto mode in dungeons and other new additions. Rescue requests can also be sent and received online to receive extra rewards.

Online functionality requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

“Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is a different type of Pokémon adventure that allows fans to actually become a Pokémon and interact with some of their favorite characters in a special way,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America. “This game can be enjoyed by Pokémon fans of all ages, with tons of enemy Pokémon to battle and treasures to discover.”
