PM Studios and Radical Forge, with Halfbrick Studios, BBC Studios, and Ludo Studio announced Bluey’s Quest for the Golden Pen is out now on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation 4 and 5, Switch 1 and 2, and Xbox Series X/S ($39.99; Switch 2 $49.99).
Bluey’s Quest for the Gold Pen is an animated co-op adventure featuring an all-new story written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm.
The game’s animated world is inspired by the Bluey episodes Dragon and Escape. When Dad takes the Gold Pen Bluey is using to draw her fantastical world, she begins her quest to get it back. The whole Heeler family comes together to design the world and their characters; Dad becomes King Goldie Horns, while sister Bingo becomes Bingoose.
The platformer features nine levels from Bluey’s imagination and world, including beaches, forests, mountains, and Australian landscapes. Plus, a new soundtrack by in-house studio, Halfbrick.
The game is designed for families with co-op play and teamwork. Players will find hidden treasures, help lost animals, and explore the world with gliders, skates, and more.
Fully-voiced narration is coming soon, which should help younger players understand the story, and add accessibility.
“Bluey is one of those rare brands that genuinely brings people together across generations, and we’re incredibly proud to help bring Bluey’s Quest for The Gold Pen to families on consoles and PC,” said Michael Yum, CEO, PM Studios. “From the humor and creativity to the warmth and heart at the center of the story, the game really captures what makes Bluey so special. We hope families, friends, and fans everywhere create memorable moments together as they jump into this adventure.”
Bluey’s Quest for the Gold Pen is available now on PC, and consoles, as well as on iOS and Android mobile devices. The Switch 2 version includes the full game on the cartridge, instead of the derided Game Key Card.
Bluey is the Emmy Award-winning children’s series from Australia starring the titular character and her loving family of Blue Heelers. It’s available on Disney Channel, Disney Jr., and streaming on Disney+ in partnership with BBC Studios.
