Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, DC, and the LEGO Group (whew) have released LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. It’s available in Standard and Deluxe Editions on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

A Switch 2 version will arrive later this year.

Legacy of the Dark Knight features an original story that blends the full history of Batman and his various incarnations, including comics, TV, and films, across multiple eras.

Players can explore an open world Gotham City featuring familiar locations such as Arkham Asylum, Wayne Tower, and Ace Chemicals, and customize their own Batcave home base.

Inspired by the Batman Arkham games, the LEGO combat system has been completely revamped to include attack chains, takedowns, combos, and gadgets.

Unlike most LEGO games, LEGO Batman features only a handful of playable allies, but each ally has a distinctive playstyle and unique abilities. Nightwing has electric gear, Batgirl has hacks and drones, and Catwoman has her whip and kitties.

Thankfully, two player cooperative mode has been preserved, allowing players to take on the adventure together as Batman, and one of his crime-fighting allies. The list of playable allies includes Batgirl, Catwoman, Jim Gordon, Nightwing, Robin, and Talia Al-Ghul.

For a tougher challenge, LEGO Batman also offers new higher difficulty levels, including Caped Crusader and Dark Knight difficulty modes.

“On behalf of the entire team at TT Games, we’re incredibly proud to launch LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, our most ambitious LEGO game ever,” said Jonathan Smith, Head of Development, TT Games. “We’re all huge DC fans, and it’s been an absolute honor to tell the definitive Batman story, drawing on decades of iconic moments in this unique and fun LEGO way. The team has delivered rich gameplay, terrific action, and an open world Gotham City playground that’s nothing less than stunning.”

The Deluxe Edition includes the Legacy Collection DLC, featuring suits and Batcave items inspired by the Batman: Arkham games and Batman Beyond TV series. It also includes the game’s first big post-launch DLC (coming Sept. 2026), Mayhem Collection, which adds Joker and Harley Quinn has playable characters in a new story mission.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is rated E10+.
