Warner Bros. Games has released the impressive launch trailer for the upcoming LEGO Batman game. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will release on May 22 on PC (Steam, Epic), PlayStation, and Xbox ($69.99). The Switch 2 version will launch later this year.

Launch trailers are typically released on, well, launch day, not two weeks prior. But the launch trailer for LEGO Batman is frankly one of the coolest trailers I’ve seen in a long time. It even features the extremely 90s song, “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal, which was featured in Batman Forever.

I have so much nostalgia for that film and soundtrack!

This LEGO game really looks like a labor of love by veteran developer TT Games, touching on multiple eras and generations of the Caped Crusader. Most notably, Batman: The Animated Series, 90s Batman films, and the Christopher Nolan trilogy.

No Justice League nonsense or other DC Universe stuff. Just pure Batman goodness, with a dark Gotham City, and familiar villains such as Bane, Joker, Mr. Freeze, and Poison Ivy. Plus, Batman’s allies (and fellow playable characters) Robin, Catwoman, Batgirl, and more.

All while maintaining that charmingly goofy LEGO humor!

Legacy of the Dark Knight features a new, combo-driven combat system, an open-world Gotham to explore, and an extra-challenging Dark Knight mode.

Pre-orders are available now, and includes the Dark Knight Returns Batsuit. The Deluxe Edition ($89.99) also includes the Legacy Collection and Mayhem Collection. The Legacy Collection includes cosmetics, while the Mayhem Collection is post-launch DLC featuring playable Joker and Harley Quinn (releasing Sept 2026). The Deluxe Edition also includes an extra 3-day head start for pre-orders.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will release on May 22 (or May 19 for Deluxe Edition pre-orders) on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It’s launching later this year on Switch 2, and rated E10+ with Crude Humor, Fantasy Violence.
