One of the biggest games of the year, Marvel’s Avengers, is out today on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia, for $59.99.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics (Tomb Raider) and published by Square Enix (Final Fantasy), Marvel’s Avengers features a single player campaign along with an ongoing, online adventure. Up to four players can play as Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, and Ms. Marvel in a series of co-op missions. Discover loot, unlock new powers and costumes, and brawl through hordes of enemies in repeatable missions.

The single player campaign centers on a young Inhuman, Kamala, as she embarks on a quest to reassemble the Avengers following a tragic event. The evil organization known as AIM works to rule the world via advanced technology, and it’s up to the Avengers to pick themselves up and avenge the Earth once more.

“At its heart, Marvel’s Avengers is a game about hope in a modern Super Hero setting,” said Shaun Escayg, creative director, Crystal Dynamics. “Our original story campaign features Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, as the point-of-view focus who is unflappably optimistic, and she uses her passion, natural curiosity, gifted intellect, and emerging powers to expose a conspiracy, leading her on an adventure to re-assemble and re-build the Avengers to their former glory.”

Marvel’s Avengers will be an ongoing service, with free updates and additions. The first will add a pair of Hawkeyes from the comics: Kate Bishop and Clint Barton, along with the “Taking AIM” missions in October.

With new consoles right around the corner, Square Enix is offering free upgrades from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, and Xbox One to Xbox Series X. Saves and profiles will transfer. The game also supports cross-gen play, in case your friends are a bit slower to upgrade.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now. It’s rated T for Teen.
