The annual October showcase for life sim Disney Dreamlight Valley revealed lots of juicy details about upcoming expansion, The Keepsake Sea, including the release date. The Keepsake Sea will release on November 18 ($29.99).

The Keepsake Sea is a mermaid and pirate themed expansion coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley. The adventure will take players beyond Dazzle Beach onto a series of new island biomes — as well as under the sea.

The five new villagers coming with the expansion are Milo (from Disney’s Atlantis), Megara (Disney’s Hercules), Captain Hook and Wendy (Disney’s Peter Pan), and Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean).

The players will first meet Milo and Jack at Shipwreck Shores, themed after a pirate hideaway. Milo’s submersibles will allow the player to take villagers with them when they go underwater, with their new mermaid transformation.

Once unlocked, players can transform into their merfolk form to explore the new underwater areas, and fully customize their outfits and fin configuration.

The underwater areas are fully explorable, and can be built up just like any biome. Players can also easily catch fish while in mer-form.

The other biomes are Candy Cove, which is home to Megara and a very unhappy Captain Hook, and finally the Kingdom of Oublié, which is inspired by Atlantica from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, and where the party can find Wendy from Peter Pan.

To travel between islands, players will be given their very own Enchanted Pirate Ship, which is also customizable and navigable. Players can also select up to two Villagers to tag along as crewmates, and decorate the interior just like a room of their house.

The expansion will also add Adventure Companions, a new type of Companion. The first Adventure Companion is Dory, from Pixar’s Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. Dory includes special rewards, and can accompany players on land via a special bubble.

Early Adopters for the expansion can receive a bonus Villainous Fin customization (purchase before December 2), while Twitch users can unlock a Pirate Crocodile and Sea Witch Drop by watching partnered creators.

The Keepsake Sea will also be available in a Deluxe Edition ($49.99), which includes twice the Moonstones (from 5,000 to 10,000), a custom player house, Gilded Shell Tops, and specail Adventure Companions, Flounder and Sebastian from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

Dang, pay-walling the best Companions in the Deluxe Edition is a bummer!

To celebrate the upcoming expansion, a new Seafaring Star Path is available now through December 2. The Star Path includes nautical furniture, Merfolk attire, and pirate-themed outfit. In a Dreamlight Valley first, the Seafaring Star Path will run alongside the current Haunting Elegance Star Path.

The next free content update will add Lilo and a holiday-themed star path in December.

The 2026 Showcase also teased the next three content updates coming in the first half of 2027:

  • “Two princes” will arrive in early 2027. Judging from the teaser picture, they are Prince Charming from Disney’s Cinderella, and Prince Naveen from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.
  • Spring 2027 will add an iconic villainous duo, which has to be Yzma and Kronk!
  • Finally Summer 2027 shows the famous balloon-house from Pixar’s Up, which will include a certain canine Companion.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PC (Steam, Epic, Microsoft), PlayStation, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, and Apple Arcade, and rated E for Everyone. The Keepsake Sea expansion is out November 18.
