Two popular mobile apps are trading their green mascots for a special collaboration. Multiplayer strategy-action game Brawl Stars and language learning app Duolingo couldn’t be more different, but they both feature green mascots in Duo and Spike, and that’s good enough for an in-app crossover!

The special collaboration runs from September 19 through September 30.

In Brawl Stars, Duo arrives in Starr Park as a major game boss. Players team up for a massive 20v1 boss battle set inside Duo’s classroom. But, this is Duo, so players have to complete quizzes and answer questions to take down his increasingly powerful forms.

Players can also join a community event outside the boss battle. Complete Duo’s lessons each day, followed by a final exam, to unlock a special award.

While Duo is away, Spike from Brawl Stars sets up shop as the new lesson planner in Duolingo. Complete daily Duolingo lessons to progress the limited-time event quest, and unlock special rewards. More incentive to keeping those Duolingo streaks going! Complete the full challenge event to unlock Spike in Brawl Stars.

Brawl Stars is a team-based multiplayer game. Playing as different Brawlers with unique abilities, players battle across different maps and game modes in 3v3 or 5v5 matches. The game features a colorful, kid-friendly art style. It’s rated E10+.

Duolingo is the #1 educational app on the Google Play and App Stores. With daily lessons and interactive learning, users practice speaking, reading, listening, and writing languages to improve their vocabulary and grammar in over half a dozen languages. Duolingo is rated E for Everyone.

Brawl Stars and Duolingo are free-to-download on iOS and Android mobile platforms. The crossover event ends September 30.
