ArenaNet announced that Guild Wars Reforged will launch on iOS and Android mobile devices this summer. The MMORPG will be free to download, and supported by ads, as well as paid expansions (no subscriptions).

The base game will be free-to-play, including the Prophecies campaign. Each expansion will add additional campaign content for $6.99, while the larger Eye of the North expansion is available for $9.99. Players who already own Guild Wars Reforged and have an account can sync their accounts on mobile and unlock the ad-free version, and progress across their devices.

Guild Wars Reforged is an optimized remaster of the original 20+ year-old MMO. Reforged adds enhanced visuals including occlusion, bloom, and antialiasing, and on PC features controller support and higher resolution. It released on Steam PC in December 2025.

Guild Wars originally launched back in 2005 (one year after World of Warcraft!), and quickly became popular for its subscription-less model, and customizable character builds. Guild Wars 2 released in 2012 (also free-to-play) and continues to receive premium expansion packs over a decade later. The latest expansion released in 2025.

A new update for Guild Wars Reforged celebrates the series 21-year anniversary, adding a new dungeon and new Mesmer hero.

Guild Wars Reforged released on PC (including Steam Deck) in December 2025, in collaboration with 2weeks, a studio made up of former ArenaNet staff.

“Together with 2weeks, we used our experience building the Steam and Steam Deck experience to gain detailed knowledge of the internal systems of the game,” said Stephen Clarke-Willson, game director. “That deep dive into the user interface code has been rolled into rebuilding the user experience for mobile platforms. Meanwhile we have also been improving the onboarding experience in the “Pre-Searing” portion of the Prophecies Campaign. One very cool thing is that mobile players and PC players will play together on the same servers, and player progress will be automatically ported between mobile and PC.”

Guild Wars Reforged will soft launch on mobile outside the US (including Canada and Australia) before a wider release later this year. Pre-registration is available now on the Google Play store for Android.

Guild Wars is rated T for Teen.
