Remember World of Warcraft? It may be over 20 years old, but the venerable MMORPG is still releasing regular content and expansions — plus WoW Classic. The latest expansion, World of Warcraft Midnight, launches March 2, adding new zones, raids, and dungeons, plus the big new housing feature.

To catch up on all things WoW, Blizzard Entertainment hosted a 2026 State of Azeroth video, revealing the full World of Warcraft roadmap for the year. The 2026 roadmap for World of Warcraft includes more content for Wow Midnight, as well as World of Warcraft Mists of Panderia Classic updates, and the launch of Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition.

World of Warcraft Midnight is the big new expansion for the main retail version, returning players to the elven kingdom of Quel’Thalas, which features four new or reimagined zoned, and eight new dungeons. Midnight raises the level cap to 90, adds a new PvP battleground in Slayers Rise, and unlock Void Elf Demon Hunters.

But the biggest new feature is customizable player housing, which the State of Azeroth video goes all in on. Housing has been available via Early Access in World of Warcraft since December. After finishing the tutorial island, Midnight players can claim a home and join a neighborhood. Neighborhoods can be public, or private for guilds.

Neighborhoods can take on Endeavors, which are community activities of themed tasks, which could include questing, crafting, or dungeons, with housing decoration rewards.

Hundreds of decorative housing items are available to unlock and collect. Players can also craft housing decor for their home — or sell them to other players.

Players who don’t own the Midnight expansion can still visit other neighborhoods and unlock housing items, but won’t be able to claim a home or join a neighborhood.

World of Warcraft Midnight base edition ($49.99) includes a level 80 character boost, and 500 Trader’s Tender. The Heroic Edition ($69.99) includes a Lightwing Dragonhawk flying mount and Lightstrider Raiment transmog set, and an additional 500 Trader’s Tender. The Epic Edition ($89.99) includes a total of 2000 Trader’s Tender, 30 days of game time, 3-day early access, and several pets, transmogs, and decor items. An active World of Warcraft subscription is also required.

World of Warcraft is rated T for Teen, and available on Windows PC and Mac.
