Gameloft has officially released the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Disney Dreamlight Valley, and owners of the original Switch version can upgrade for free.

While we’re all hooked on Pokémon Pokopia, another of our favorite life sims is now available on Switch 2 as a free Upgrade Pack.

Disney Dreamlight Valley takes full advantage of the upgraded hardware in the newer console. The Switch 2 Edition features improved framerate, increased resolution, and faster load times.

Plus, players can enjoy an increased item limit of 6,000, which is highly welcome after several years of seasonal events and new content.

As someone who often swapped between playing Dreamlight Valley on Switch and PC, the differences were night and day, especially as I continued to build up and decorate my Valley. The original Switch version frequently struggled with poorer textures and laggy framerate. And entering Scrooge’s store, or the restaurants, resulted in awful load times.

Now if we can just fix the little issue of expansions only unlocking on the platform you purchase them on (boo), all my platform issues would be solved!

Disney Dreamlight Valley is in the midst of its Spring seasonal event, recently adding Lady and the Tramp to the Valley. The first half of the 2026 roadmap revealed that Pocahontas is coming net, followed by Hercules.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on Steam PC and Mac, PlayStation, Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox. It’s rated E for Everyone.
