We know the holidays just ended and our wallets are whimpering — but it’s still a great time to pick up more games! Every major digital gaming platform is hosting a huge sale, with some games up to 75% or even 90% off. Many excellent games that released earlier this year, such as Split Fiction, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows are discounted at 30%-50% off, for you savvy patient gamers out there.
Don’t wait too long, as most of these digital game sales end early January 2026.
Steam Winter Sale
Though a gaming PC (or a Steam Deck) can easily cost more than a console, Steam’s seasonal sales are second-to-none, featuring great gaming deals on thousands of games.
Game of the Year winning RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is 20% off ($39.99), while previous RPG award-winner Baldur’s Gate 3 is 25% off ($44.99). Competitive shooter fans can’t go wrong with big recent releases such as Arc Raiders (20%, $31.99), and Battlefield 6 (30%, $48.99).
For those looking for more medieval action, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is another top game of the year, and it’s at an all-time low sale price of $29.99 (50% off).
Other excellent 2025 releases on sale include Jurassic World Evolution 3 (20%, $47.99), The Outer Worlds 2 (30%, $48.99), Sonic Racing CrossWorlds (30%, $48.99), Borderlands 4 (20%, $55.99), Dispatch, and Split Fiction (25%, $37.49).
You’ll also find best-ever sales prices for immersive sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 (65%, $20.99), co-op monster hunting action game Monster Hunter Wilds (45%, $38.49), historical action-stealth game Assassin’s Creed Shadows (50%, $34.99), and award-winning action game sequel, God of War Ragnarok (33%, $40.19).
The Steam Winter Sale ends January 5, 2026.
GOG Winter Sale

Aside from offering DRM-free games with no strings attached, GOG also specializes in older PC games dating back to the 1980s. The GOG Preservation Program ensures these older classics are kept updated and running smoothly on modern machines.
Look for games labeled Good Old Game to know that it’s a game that’s well taken care of. And now, many are on sale with deep discounts: Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete (50%, $4.99), The Witcher and The Witcher 2 (85% each, $1.49 and 2.99), Myst Masterpiece Edition (60%, $2.39), and The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind (50%, $7.49).
And it’s not just super old games, how about Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition (50%, $9.99), Dragon Age: Origins (50%, $9.99), and the Spore Collection (50%, $14.99). Wait, those games are already a decade and a half old? Now I feel sad.
The GOG Winter Sale ends January 2, 2026.
Nintendo Eshop Sale
With the Switch 2 releasing earlier this year, the few new Switch 2 games, such as Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, are definitely not on sale yet (but are still worth getting!).
But it’s the perfect time to catch up on some quality older releases, including big first-party titles such as Super Mario Odyssey ($39.99, 30%), The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom ($41.99, 30%), and Princess Peach: Showtime ($41.99, 30%). When it comes to first-party Nintendo games, 30% off is as good as we’re likely to get!
The sale also features excellent tactical strategy-RPGs Unicorn Overlord (65%, $20.00) and Triangle Strategy (60%, $23.99). M-rated JRPG Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is a steal at $23.99 (60% off). If you somehow missed Ubisoft’s take on The Legend of Zelda, you absolutely need to pick up Immortals Fenyx Rising for the stupid price of $3.99 (90% off).
Speaking of Ubisoft, the turn-based tactical series Mario + Rabbids is well worth playing, with the recent sequel Sparks of Hope at a 90% discount ($5.99). Though weirdly the first Mario & Rabbids isn’t on sale at all!
Other great sale prices include the first two Octopath Traveler games ($23.99 each, 60% off), tactical spin-off Persona 5 Tactica ($14.99, 75%), ongoing space exploration adventure No Man’s Sky ($23.99, 60%), and popular indie roguelite-RPG Hades ($7.49, 70% off).
The Nintendo eShop sale ends January 5, 2026.
PlayStation Holiday Sale
You don’t have to panic as much with the PlayStation Holiday sale, as it lasts through most of January.
Competitive shooters Arc Raiders (20%, $31.99), and Battlefield 6 (30%, $48.99) match the sales on other platforms, and well-worth grabbing, as well as award-winning RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at 20% off ($39.99).
Death Stranding 2 ($49.69, 29%) released to much smaller fanfare that its predecessor, but is a solid sequel, and currently exclusive to PlayStation 5.
I’m also a big fan of Borderlands 4‘s splitscreen co-op on the big screen, and it’s on sale at 20% off ($55.99), with new DLC releasing throughout 2026. Split Fiction ($37.49, 25%) also looks great on the big screen, and does some really fun things with cooperative play. You really can’t go wrong with Hazelight Studios and co-op games!
Other nice discounted games include souls-like fantasy action game Elden Ring ($38.99, 35%), open world sci-fi RPG-shooter Cyberpunk 2077 ($22.49, 55%) + Phantom Liberty expansion ($20.99, 30%), and recently released first-person RPG sequel The Outer Worlds 2 ($48.99, 30% off)
The PlayStation Holiday Sale ends January 21, 2026.
