After recently winning the Player’s Choice award at this year’s The Game Awards, Wuthering Waves, has just released its next large update. Wuthering Waves Version 3.0, “We Who See the Stars,” adds an entirely new storyline, a new prehistoric region, two new characters, and more.

Chapter 3 will weave science fiction with romance over two acts as players journey to Lahai-Roi, a warm, isolated region beneath the Roya Frostlands. Thanks to its uniquely humid climate and isolation, the region is home to prehistoric life. The region is also home to the Startorch Academy, an idyllic city of learning and research.

New players will be able to fast track directly to Chapter 3 by logging into the Terminal at the Resonance Nexus.

The new Resonators are Lynae and Mornye. Lynae is a Spectro Resonantor, and student at Startorch Academy who wields pistols. Moryne is a Fusion Resonator and professor at Startorch who uses a broadblade sword. Both are 5-star characters.

Lynae will be available first via the Undefined Spectrum banner from now through January 15.

Wuthering Waves Version 3.0 also adds new 5-star weapons, new enemies, limited-time events, optimizations, and other quality of life improvements. See the full patch notes for details.

By logging into the game, players can earn 10 Radiant Tide and 10 Crystal Solvent.

“By the end of 2025, we had received some awards, such as the PlayStation Partner and Users’ Choice Awards, the HMMA Award, Google Play Best Ongoing Award, and, to our honor, most recently the Players’ Voice Award at TGA 2025,” said Solon, CEO and producer, Kuro Games. “It’s this perseverance that has fueled all of us on the dev team to our hearts into preparing for Version 3.0. The upcoming chapter will feature a blend of mechanical science fiction and space romance. We hope it will offer you a fresh and exciting experience. To make this happen, we’ve introduced a new exploration method and map style with new Resonators, new monsters, and a brand-new narrative set in Lahai-Roi. Are you ready to open the gate to Startorch Academy and step into Lahai-Roi? The next Chapter of Wuthering Waves awaits you ahead!”

Wuthering Waves is a Genshin-like, free-to-play gacha-RPG on PC (Steam, Epic), Mac, PlayStation 5, and iOS and Android mobile platforms. It’s rated T for Teen.
