Sega has released Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 Edition is available on the Nintendo eShop for $69.99 (physical edition coming early 2026). Owners of the Switch 1 version can purchase the Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack for $5 with a special 50% off deal through Dec. 12 (normally $10).

Like most Switch 2 editions, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition features upgraded resolution and improved frame rates. The Switch 2 can support up to 1080p HD in handheld mode, and up to 4K resolution at 60 fps in docked TV mode.

Players who own the Digital Deluxe Edition of CrossWorlds on Switch ($79.99) will still have access to the extra content when they use the Upgrade Pack. Otherwise, players will need to purchase the Season Pass DLC ($29.99), plus the Upgrade Pack.

See this somewhat confusing infographic for more details.

Players who purchase the Switch 2 Edition (or Upgrade Pack) will also receive the Werehog DLC Pack for free as a pre-order/early purchase bonus. The free DLC will only be available for the next two weeks, ending Dec. 17.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a Mario Kart-like multiplayer racing game featuring Sonic and his many friends and enemies (and frenemies). It released earlier this year as a worthy competitor to Mario Kart World, featuring a fun portal-hopping mechanic through courses and worlds.

All versions of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds also received a new 1.2 patch. The patch adds a new Legend Competition mode, along with some new jukebox tracks, decals, and gadgets.

CrossWorlds is also available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and rated E for Everyone.
