The Game Awards 2025 showcased a new trailer for upcoming free-to-play gacha RPG, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin has a launch date of January 28, 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation, and iOS and Android mobile devices.
Pre-registration is available now on iOS and Android. By per-registering, players can earn Draw Tickets, weapons, and upgrade materials, as well as the hero Tioreh.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, Origin is similar in art style, gameplay, and general gacha mechanics to Genshin Impact, one of the first big AAA gacha RPGs (and still going strong!). But Origin is backed by a popular manga/anime series, which is also available on Netflix.
The game’s story is set between the events of the anime and the movie, as players explore Brittania’s open world, collecting heroes, and battling monsters. Like Genshin, players earn (or puchase) premium currency for ‘pulls’ on banners that can yield different heroes or weapons. By forming a 4-person party, players can swap between their characters to unleash combos and synergies.
Origin features some multiversal shenanigans, focusing on Meliodas and Tristan, and the tease of Escanor. Original voice actors also return for the game.
The new trailer shows off large-scale raid battles, which features real-time combat and cooperative multiplayer, as players take on powerful boss monsters.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is designed by Netmarble, and rated T for Teen. It’s out January 28, 2026.
