Electronic Arts and Maxis have announced Adventure Awaits, the latest expansion pack for The Sims 4. The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits will add new neighborhoods, new traits, and scheduled Getaways — including summer camps for kids.

The main new addition in the expansion pack are Getaways and Custom Venues. Essentially, these are scheduled day-long outings at specific locations. Players can select the location, choosing either a unique Custom Venue, or an existing one with built-in schedules of activities. Sims can work on fulfilling challenges, giving them lifelong bonuses.

The expansion also expands Child Sims with Formative Moments that evolve into Sentiments. Players can design modular playgrounds with different activities. Plus, Child Sims can now form bonds with Imaginary Friend dolls. Four personalities are available for imaginary friends: competitive, creative, goofball, and evil!

Most expansion also include new traits, skills, careers, and neighborhoods, and Adventure Awaits is no different. Sims can engage with new outdoor skills such as diving and archery, perfect to pair with the new competitive trait and outdoor venues. New careers are also outdoor-themed, including Park Ranger and Camp Counselor.

Sims can also explore the three new neighborhoods of Gibbi Point with plenty of outdoor fun: Wanderwood Wilds, Crystal Valley, and Jellyfish Junction. Each neighborhood has its own pre-designed Getaway that players can visit right away.

The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits expansion pack will release on October 2. Players who order before November 13 will receive three special in-game items for when the sun goes down: Toasty Tower Lamp, Toast-Tea Kettle, and Toasty Tootsies Socks.

The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox, and rated T for Teen.
