A new season of Pokémon GO has begun. World of Wonders adds a rare Ultra Beast Pokémon, Legendary Shadow Raids, new timed research, and a new Wonder Ticket of unlockable goodies.

The new Ultra Beast Pokémon is Poipole. The Poison Pin Pokémon originally hails from Gen 8 (Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon).

To obtain Poipole, you’ll need to complete the World of Wonders seasonal quest, which is available to unlock until the season ends June 1st. Reminder that once you obtain the research from any season, there’s no more time limit on when you have to complete it.

The season also adds new Pokémon from Gen 9, the Paldea region, including Carcadet and its two evolutions: Armarouge and Ceruledge.

During the season, players can battle in special Shadow Raids. Five-star Shadow Raids are only available on the weekend, and feature Shadow Raikou, Entie, and Suicune — including rare shiny versions.

Seasonal rotations will feature different Pokémon by completing Research Breakthroughs. This season you can look for Furfou, Goomy, Sandygast, Jangmo-o, Dubwool, and Hisuian Sneasel, as well as different Pokémon appearing in the wild, and hatching from eggs.

The season will also grant one bonus Raid Pass per day from Gyms, and increased XP for defeating one-star and three-star Raids (including the new Shadow Raids).

The World of Wonders season ends June 1st. Pokémon GO is free to play on iOS and Android mobile devices.
