Pokémon GO introduced a new Season called Adventures Abound, running now through December 1. The season is one of Pokémon GO’s biggest updates yet, adding new events, highlights, rotations, and adds the latest crop of Pokémon from the Paldea region.

Paldean Pokémon, first found in Scarlet and Violet, have begun to appear in Pokémon GO, including the three starter Pokémon Spriggatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, as well as their evolutions.

The new starters can be found in 7km eggs, alongside Lechonk, another early Paldean native. Lechonk can also appear in Shiny forms.

The Seasonal event also adds regular Community Days, Special Research, themed stickers, and a special Timed Investigation. By completing the Timed Investigation by November 21, trainers can earn a rare, unfailing Master Ball.

During the season, certain PokéStops will host Showcases. At these special locations, trainers can enter a Pokémon into that Showcase to show them off if they meet that PokéStop’s criteria. Any trainer who participates will receive rewards hen the Showcase ends.

The season also introduces Routes. Trainers who are over level 40 (wow!) can create Routes by mapping certain areas as they walk, starting at a PokéStop. These routes are then submitted and approved by Niantic. If approved, these maps can be joined by any trainer, but only if they’re nearby. Routes only recently began rolling out, so don’t expect to find them too often.

Pokémon GO is free to download on iOS and Android mobile devices. The Adventures Abound season runs through December 1. The Halloween-themed Harvest Festival is running now through Oct. 17, and features more frequent Grass-type Pokémon and challenges.
