Next week on June 2 marks the release of the final expansion pack for ARK: Survival Evolved, Genesis Part 2. It will launch alongside a new definite edition, ARK: Ultimate Survival Edition, which includes every expansion and DLC released for the long-running survival-crafting game.

Genesis Part 2 adds an entirely new world, with its own biomes, creatures, and story missions. The main campaign features the voice talents of David Tennant (Doctor Who) as the villain Sir Edmund Rockwell, and Madeleine Madden (The Wheel of Time) reprising her role has AI companion HLN-A. The story will take the survivor all the way to a massive colony ship in space, and feature a final showdown between the two characters.

Genesis Part 2 is part of the Genesis Season Pass ($34.99). Part 1 added a virtual simulation of several smaller maps of alien worlds. It was released last year.

ARK: Ultimate Survival Edition is priced at $59.99 and includes the base game as well as the following major expansions:

  • Scorched Earth
  • Aberration
  • Extinction
  • Genesis Part 1
  • Genesis Part 2

ARK: Survival Evolved is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One. The expansions are not available on Switch, however, and users and critics have complained about the low-quality port on Switch. It’s rated T for Teen. Ark 2 was announced during The Game Awards last year, and is slated for a 2022 release.
