With all the Final Fantasy news these days, it’s easy to forget that Square Enix announced a multiplayer mobile spin-off called Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier. Interested players can register now via the Google Play store for the upcoming closed beta test, which will be held June 1 through June 7.

The First Soldier is a last-person-standing Battle Royale action game, as they compete with other SOLDIER candidates. Players can choose between different class styles, including Warrior, Sorcerer, or Monk, each with its own unique abilities.

In a nod to the MOBA genre, players will also have to fight monsters to gain experience, level up, and unlock new gear and weapons, including summoning powerful materia elements.

You can watch a replay of the first livestream gameplay of The First Soldier via Twitch. The stream also revealed the final trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade, the enhanced PlayStation 5 version, which is getting its own exclusive DLC called Episode Intermission.

Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier is scheduled to release later this year as a free download with in-app purchases. Intergrade, and Episode Intermission, are launching on June 10. Final Fantasy 7 and its spin-offs and DLC are rated T for Teen.
