Capcom has released the eighth main game in the long-running action-horror franchise. Resident Evil Village is out now on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.

Village continues the story from Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, with protagonist Ethan Winters searching a village full of evil creatures for his kidnapped infant daughter. In the remote village and nearby castle, Ethan will run afoul of the Lady Dimitrescu, a towering (literally over 9 feet tall) vampire woman who instantly became a fan-favorite during the game’s pre-release marketing. She, along with her daughters, act as the primary antagonists throughout Ethan’s adventure.

Fans of the Mercenaries mode from earlier games in the series will be delighted to see its return, giving players a challenging arcade-like New Game Plus mode after finishing the campaign.

Resident Evil Village is available in Standard and Deluxe Editions. The Deluxe Edition includes the digital Trauma Pack DLC.  Purchasing Village also includes access to upcoming multiplayer spin-off, Resident Evil Re:Verse. If you purchase on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you can upgrade the game to its next-gen version for free.

A demo of Village has recently been extended through May 9th, which includes 60 minutes of game time.

Resident Evil Village is rated M for Mature.
