During Square Enix’s second War Table stream for Marvel’s Avengers, they showcased more gameplay, and revealed several important details, including the start of the beta, and the reveal of the first post-launch hero.

The start date for the beta for Marvel’s Avengers depends on the platform. PlayStation 4 owners who pre-order the game will get early access August 7-9. All PS4 owners will be able to get into the beta on August 14, and run through August 16.

PC and Xbox players who pre-ordered can play August 14-16. Finally, all players on all platforms, whether they pre-order or not, will be able to join the beta August 21 -23.

For Fortnite fans who play the beta on PlayStation and Xbox, and who link their Square Enix Accounts to Epic Games, they can earn the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe in Fortnite by completing the three HARM-room challenges in the Avengers beta.

“We really want to give fans an in-depth look at what they can expect when they get their hands on the beta starting on August 7th,” said Scot Amos, Co-Head of Crystal Dynamics. “I couldn’t be more proud of the work the team has done getting Marvel’s Avengers ready for players, and can’t wait to see their reactions.”

SPOILER WARNING for the first post-launch hero being added to Marvel’s Avengers, though it’s a pretty easy guess: Hawkeye, the only OG MCU Avenger not already in the game. Players will be able to wield Clint Barton’s signature bow and arrows in solo and co-op adventures, along with all new missions. Best of all: the Hawkeye DLC will be completely free!

The War Table stream also showcased another co-op mission, this time with Hulk and Ms. Marvel as they infiltrate an AIM base in a forest in the Pacific Northwest, then to an old Shield bunker in Russia.

Marvel’s Avengers is due out September 4 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s rated T for Teen.
