News
- Coleco severed ties with the Chameleon console amid plenty of controversy.
- Microsoft announced it’s closing two game studios in Europe.
- More publishers pulled out of E3. Does that mean E3 is dying or evolving into something more like the European convention Gamescom?
- Stephen is going to be on a gamer-parenting panel at PAX East.
- American Express teamed up with the National Park Service, Games for Change, and Shell Games to make a mobile game to encourage people to volunteer in national parks. It’s called Save the Park.
- Speaking of games that encourage you to go outside: Courtney recommends Firewatch and Nicole recommends Ingress, an alternate-reality game you play outside. We’re also looking forward to Pokémon Go.
Nintendo Direct News
Nintendo Direct announced a ton of stuff. News about the upcoming Star Fox Zero release (in your face, Stephen!), Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, a bunch of Super Nintendo games becoming available on the New 3DS, and more. Be sure to listen to Stephen’s wonderful rant about Bravely Default.
