Natsume Inc and Rising Star Games announced the next game in the Harvest Moon farm sim series. Harvest Moon: One World will arrive on Nintendo Switch later this year.

One World will include an all-new engine with new graphics. The world of Harvest Moon has expanded beyond the farm and into places around the world, such as the beaches of Halo Halo and mountains of Salmiakki. The mysteries of farming have been lost, until the player finds an old book. They must travel the world to fill it with recipes and farming knowledge.

“Harvest Moon: One World features a brand-new way of exploring Harvest Moon that seasoned players and new generations will both enjoy,” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO, Natsume. “Over the decades, Harvest Moon has evolved but has always retained the traditional, family-friendly farming fun that the franchise is known for. The new engine and new graphics will upgrade this experience for 2020. We are so excited to share more about the features of Harvest Moon: One World in the coming months.”

The last Harvest Moon game was Mad Dash, a party game spin-off which released on Nintendo Switch (as well as PC and PlayStation 4) in 2019. The most recent main series game was Harvest Moon: Light of Hope in 2018 (2017 on PC).

The series went through a confusing name change about five years ago, in which the older Harvest Moon developers (Marvelous) now produce the Story of Seasons series, with the most recent release as last year’s Doraemon Story of Seasons.

Harvest Moon: One World will launch later this year.
