Indie game studio VoodooDuck has released cozy farming adventure, Collector’s Cove, on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Switch ($19.99). It’s currently available with a 10% launch discount through March 26.
Collector’s Cove is a single player farm sim with a twist: your farm is located on a barge being pulled by a giant friendly dinosaur.
The idea of a mobile base pulled by a giant creature reminds me of The Wandering Village, though Collector’s Cove is definitely not a city building sim.
It’s a cozy game sans enemies, but plenty of new discoveries. As players travel through the ocean, they discover new islands with flora and fauna to collect and add to their ever-growing Compendium.
Then, grow new plants and vegetables aboard their ship-slash-homestead, and craft new materials and decorative objects for the ship.
The big dino (plesiosaurus?) is more than just a unique mode of transportation. It’s also your friend and companion. By feeding her new kinds of food, you unlock new interactions and customization.
It’s the least she deserves from hauling all your crap around!
As a tiny four-person indie studio, VoodooDuck is also offering a $5 Supporter Pack DLC, which includes three cosmetic items (one for you, and two for the dinosaur).
Collector’s Cove is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Switch, and rated E for Everyone.
