Marvel Cosmic Invasion is getting its second DLC, headlined by Dr. Doom, just ahead of Avengers Doomsday. The Siege of Castle Doom will unlock two new playable characters to the beat ’em up: Dr. Doom, and Invisible Woman, when it releases on November 10.
The villainous Victor Von Doom utilizes his high-tech armor and master of the occult magic skills to help defend Earth from the forces of Annihilus.
Susan Storm, matriarch of the Fantastic Four, uses her light-bending powers to create force fields and energy blasts.
The DLC also teases a new game mode set in Dr. Doom’s homeland, but hasn’t officially revealed anything yet. Safe to guess it’s some kind of horde defense survival mode. The developer and publisher’s previous retro beat ’em up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, received such a mode in its Dimension Shellshock DLC.
The Siege of Castle Doom is the second DLC for Marvel Cosmic Invasion. The first DLC, Cyclops & The Thing, added the X-Men leader and the Fantastic Four’s heavy hitter.
Interesting that the Fantastic Four are getting split into multiple expansions!
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an arcade style beat ’em up with a retro pixel art style. Featuring a roster of over a dozen heroes and anti-heroes, players swap between two characters as they journey through familiar Marvel worlds, fending off the insectoid armies of the Annihilation Wave.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is available on Steam PC, PlayStation, Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox. The Siege of Castle Doom is out on November 3. It’s rated E10+.
