Korean indie developer Flyway Games announced platformer Waltz and Jam will release on December 3 for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Switch 2. A playable demo is available now on Steam.

The ghostly Waltz (who resembles a kid wearing a white-sheet ghost costume), awakens in the afterlife known as Downtown. Before he can reach the Gate of Judgement (and “Uptown”), he needs to collect seven stamps across seven different worlds, each inspired by one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Each world adopts a different color palette and theme, from a chaotic restaurant to an endless desert, and each ends in a large-scale boss embodying the Sin.

Eat your heart out, Dante!

Like Banjo-Kazooie, Waltz doesn’t have to adventure alone. He’s accompanied by his spirit puppy, Jam, which looks more like a black blob with a long trail and a vaguely dog-like face. Jam can transform into different objects to help the pair get around, including a bouncy water ball or a trampoline.

Waltz, meanwhile, can use toys and tools found along the way to defeat enemies and overcome challenges.

The announcement was revealed during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase, which included dozens of indie game reveals, announcements, and updates.

Waltz and Jam will launch on December 3 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Switch 2.
