The Nintendo Direct for June 2026 dropped some big announcements including the return of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time! Plus, Kingdom Hearts 4, Xenoblade Genesis, Pokémon Pokopia  DLC, and new trailers for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World.

The tease for Ocarina of Time was a big surprise. Unfortunately, that’s all we saw, a brief tease. Nintendo describes the seminal Nintendo 64 game as “reborn for Nintendo Switch 2,” which sounds like it’s more than just a remaster.

Or maybe we’re just being hopeful.

Either way, expect a dedicated Direct sometime soon, as the new Ocarina of Time is arriving later this year.

Square Enix also announced Kingdom Hearts 4 — a much quicker turnaround time than the infamous 14-year wait to Kingdom Hearts 3! Protagonist Sora returns to explore the mysterious city of Quadratum, where he’ll travel to new Disney realms and meet more allies and enemies in an all-new story arc.

To help catch up on the series, Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III] is launching on Oct. 8 on Switch 2.

Xenoblade Genesis was teased in the Direct with a new reveal trailer, and it’s dropping in 2027. It’s the fifth game in the JRPG series, and the first to drop ‘Chronicles.’ Xenoblade Genesis represents a new beginning for the series, with details coming later.

All three main Xenoblade Chronicles games are also getting Switch 2 editions (Xenoblade Chronicles X is already on Switch 2!). Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition’s Switch 2 edition is available now. A $10 upgrade pack is also available for players who already own it on Switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch Edition will arrive July 30, while Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Switch 2 Edition will take a little longer, dropping on December 3.

One of Nintendo’s biggest games of the year is getting a big free update, and new DLC. The update adds a new Dive ability, allowing players to explore the ocean floor, and even build underwater towns.

This update is critical for the new paid DLC, the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. Part 1 of the Expansion Pass adds Bubbly Basin, a new underwater town with new furniture, outfits, and Pokémon. We’re guessing mostly Water types!

The Expansion Pass will include two additional waves of content, yet to be announced. The Expansion Pass is available to purchase now, with the update and Part 1 coming in August.

The Direct also provided new trailers on highly anticipated games, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and Dragon Quest Monsters: Withered World.

Fortune’s Weave introduces us to our four protagonists, and a release date of September 17.

The new Dragon Quest Monsters trailer showcases the familiar DQ music, and monster catching gameplay. The Withered World will release on December 3.

The next Nintendo Direct will focus on upcoming spinoff, Splatoon Raiders. Splatoon Raider is a single-player focused game as the squidlings battle Salmonids. The Splatoon Direct will air on June 30.
