Zootopia 2 is currently conquering the global box office, making it great timing for Gameloft to introduce Nick and Judy to Disney Speedstorm. The Partners in Paw free update arrives in the free-to-play kart racer on December 18, adding three new racers from the Zootopia series.

The new Zootopia racers are Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and Flash Slothmore. Judy turns on her police lights to get a speed boost when she’s passed by an opponent, and can use them to stun anyone she collides with.

Nick deploys melting popsicles onto the field to give everyone a little nitro boost, while Flash drives a bit slower but is immune to stun, and can slow down the first place racer with his DMV stamp.

Other Zootopia characters such as Gazelle, Priscilla, and Judy’s parents appear as Crew Members.

The update will also feature two mid-season racers from The Emperor’s New Groove: Kuzco and Yzma, along with side characters Kronk, Pacha, and others as Crew Members.

Players can enjoy a new Ranked system, with an account-wide ladder. The new Ranked Hub will display current rankings, ladder, and league standings, with Ranked mode granting exclusive rewards.

Speedstorm is collaborating with website Speedrun.com this season for its first speedrunning event, “Catch the Suspect.” Inspired by Zootopia, players must complete a set of 15 tracks back-to-back using either Nick or Judy. To qualify, players must beat the developer time of 40 minutes and 1 second, and submit the recording to Speedrun.com. The event runs from Dec 19 through Dec 27, and features in-game rewards, plus a cash prize of $5,000 for the fastest racers.

The Partners in Paw update goes live Dec. 18. Disney Speedstorm is free-to-play on PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and iOS and Android mobile devices, and rated E for Everyone.
