Gameloft is hosting an Open Roster Week event for Disney Speedstorm. Beginning September 18, players can try out every racer in the game, and earn unique rewards and prizes.

Speedstorm is already free-to-play, but players normally have to spend a long time earning character shards through gameplay (or microtransactions). During Open Roster Week, every racer will become available, making it easy to try out new racers you’ve been gunning for.

Plus, every player who participates in the event will receive 1,000 upgrade coins, and a new avatar.

Additionally 101 players will randomly earn 10 racer shards for a random character (10 shards = 1 unlock), and 1 winner will earn the full roster of racers (10 shards per character).

Open Roster Week begins Thursday, September 18 and runs through Wednesday, September 24.

Disney Speedstorm is a Mario Kart-like arcade racing game starring Disney and Pixar characters and tracks. It’s supported by regular seasonal passes, which helps players earn new racers. Speedstorm is currently in the middle of Season 15, “Time for Tea,” which added racers Alice, Queen of Hearts, and Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.

I had fun with Speedstorm back in Early Access, through I’ve heard the free-to-play elements have only gotten more grindy and frustrating. That’s a shame, as it’s a really solid kart racer, otherwise.

Disney Speedstorm is free to play on PC, PlayStation, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, and iOS and Android mobile devices. It’s rated E for Everyone.
