AdHoc Studio announced that their episodic adventure game, Dispatch, has already sold over one million copies on Steam and PlayStation, after only 10 days.
Even more impressive — Dispatch isn’t fully released yet. As an episodic adventure, only the first two episodes were released at launch. Thankfully, players don’t have to wait long, as Episodes three and four arrived week later, and five and six on November 5. The final two episodes are due out on November 12, completing the eight-episode arc.
Dispatch is a workplace comedy with a superhero twist. The adventure stars Robert Robertson, former superhero whose Mecha Man suit was damaged, forcing him into a desk job. Now Robert helps lead and manage a team of misfit villains-turned-heroes at the Superhero Dispatch Network.
The impressive voice cast includes Aaron Paul, Jeffrey Wright, and Laura Bailey.
2 days. 80 million copies sold.
Would’ve been nice.
We sold 1 Million in 10 days though.

“It’s always a little strange when the numbers get so big you have to talk about them,” says Michael Choung, Executive Producer and CEO, AdHoc Studio. “A week ago, we were just as thrilled watching Let’s Plays and reaction videos. But milestones like this matter. They mean AdHoc will be able to make more story-driven episodic originals, and we hope it means it’ll be easier for other devs to do the same. Hard to believe we’re only halfway done.”
AdHoc Studio is made up of former writers and directors from Telltale Games, which popularized the narrative-adventure genre throughout the 2010s. Despite releasing many popular adventure games, such as The Walking Dead (and its many sequels and spinoffs), A Wolf Among Us, and Tales from the borderlands, the Telltale Games dramatically closed in 2018. Adhoc Studio formed in 2018.
Telltale was revived a year later, and has partnered with AdHoc Studio to work on A Wolf Among Us 2.
Dispatch is available on Steam PC, and PlayStation 5. It’s rated M for Mature by the ESRB.
