The annual The Game Awards gets better and better each year, with developer-focused awards, world premiere trailers for huge games, and live music performances. The Game Awards 2019 aired December 12, 2019, featuring game luminaries like Hideo Kojima and Reggie Fils-Aime, trailers for Bravely Default 2, The Wolf Among Us 2, and Godfall, and a first look at the Xbox Series X console coming Holiday 2020.

The world premiere trailers are the real excitement during The Game Awards, but first the actual awards, as determined by gaming industry developers and publishers. We’ve listed the biggest categories below. See here for the full list of nominees and awards.

Fast & Furious Crossroads

Fast and Furious stars Michelle Rodriguez and Vin Diesel took to the stage to announce an official video game entry in the long-running action series. The racing-action game will feature Dom, Letty, and Tyrese Gibson’s Roman in an all-new story. It’s releasing in May 2020 (PS4, PC, XBO) alongside the next installment of the Fast and Furious film franchise.

Weird West

From the creators of Dishonored and Prey come an ambitious indie RPG and immersive sim set in the Old West, with a bunch of supernatural shenanigans.
