THQ Nordic and developer Purple Lamp have released the free demo for upcoming platformer, SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide. The demo is newly available on Switch 2, and also available on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide will release on November 18 on Steam, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
But more importantly I want to highlight the preorder DLC, Natural Costume Pack. The Natural Costume Pack includes special outfits for SpongeBob and Patrick that show off their, er, lower backsides. Patrick appears completely nude, where SpongeBob’s is even weirder, with his pants partly falling down like one of those back-flaps in a pajama onesie!
Titans of the Tide is a 3D platforming adventure starring SpongeBob and Patrick Star in an original adventure. With ghosts! An epic clash between King Neptune and the Flying Dutchman has ripped apart Bikini Bottom, adding ghosts, magic, and other bizarre effects.
I’m no marketing genius, but you’d think a ghostly adventure would make more sense to release in September or October. Oh well.
One nice touch: players can instantly swap between SpongeBob and Patrick to utilize their different skills.
Titans of the Tide is a sequel to 2023’s The Cosmic Shake, a 3D platformer also developed by Purple Lamp, and was a spiritual successor to SpongeBob’s original platforming adventure, Battle for Bikini Bottom. Battle for Bikini Bottom also received a remake, Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, in 2020.
In addition to the Standard edition for Titans of the Tide, the Ghostly Digital Edition includes the Tidal Season Pass. The Ghostly Physical Edition also includes a Golden Spatula keychain, five lenticular cards, a flying dutchman patch, and a steelbook case.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is rated E10+.
