THQ Nordic and Nickeleodeon have announced SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is releasing June 23 on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One. Watch the new pre-order trailer above.

Rehydrated is a remake of the 2003 platformer that originally launched on the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox era. Players can control SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy, using their unique skills to defend Bikini Bottom against Plankton’s evil plans. Items like Patrick’s socks can be found throughout each level as the heroes use special skills and items to explore each area.

The modern remake enhances the visuals with HD graphics. Gameplay has been polished, and a new horde mode supports up to two players, both locally and online. The Reyhydrated version also restores content that was cut from the original release, such as a boss fight versus Robo Squidward.

As announced last year, Rehydrated also features not one but two intimidating special editions, including the $149.99 Shiny Edition (including SpongeBob figure) and the $299.99 F.U.N. Edition, featuring figurines of all three characters and more goodies.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated will release on June 23. Retail pre-orders are available now, as well as digital pre-orders for PC and Xbox One, with PlayStation 4 to follow. Digital Switch pre-orders for Switch will be available starting April 21. It’s rated E10+ for Comic Mischief and Cartoon Violence.
