Two mega-popular indie games just blended together with Palworld: Tides of Terraria, a big free update for Palworld, available now.

Tides of Terraria adds enemies and weapons from the beloved 2D open world survival crafter (which supposedly received its final final update in 2022).

Palworld players can explore a new unique dungeon filled with familiar monsters from Terraria. Special material can be gathered there to craft Terraria gear to take on familiar bosses.

I haven’t played Terraria in years and I still recognize that iconic floating mouth-eyeball thing.

And yes, you can totally capture them and make them your Pals, even that giant creepy eyeball!

But wait, there’s more. A lot more!

The Tides of Terraria update adds a huge amount of free content to the survival crafting creature collector — including fishing! Which I kinda forgot wasn’t a thing you could do in Palworld before now. You can also ride on water Pals to collect new salvage supplies, use treasure maps to find hidden treasure, take on full enemy bases, and explore bigger settlements with new quest-giving NPCs.

Oh, and three entirely new islands have been added, each with the new Pals to discover.

Plus, new buildings, a new trust mechanic for raising stats, new weapons and items, and an increased level cap to 65.

Alright, fine. I’ll dive back into Palworld to see how it’s improved. It’s been awhile!

Despite launching about 18 months ago to ridiculous popularity, Palworld remains in Early Access. But considering this giant update, including all the Terraria stuff, is completely free, I can’t complain.

Palworld is available on Steam PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. It’s currently on stale for 25% off on Steam and the PlayStation Store, and rated T for Teen.
