After nearly two years in Steam Early Access, Stunlock Studios have released open world vampire game V Rising ($34.99). It’s available now on PC, and arriving later this year on PlayStation 5. Grab it with a 10% launch discount through May 22.

V Rising is an isometric, open-world survival game where you play as a newly awakened vampire. As a vampire, you have many special abilities, and gain powers from drinking the blood of near-death enemies. But you must also deal with glaring weaknesses, including garlic and sunlight.

Servers include cooperative PvE or full PvP, with players able to hunt, kill, and steal from one another.

And what self-respecting vampire would exist without their own castle? V Rising  sports a nifty castle building element by gathering resources and making it your own.

The 1.0 launch adds a new region that includes Dracula’s Castle, the Ruins of Mortium. It also adds difficulty settings, gamepad support, and lots of new castle decorations and balance changes. Read the full 1.o patch notes here.

“After 5 years of dedication and relentless effort, we’ve realized the vision we set out for V Rising many years ago. I couldn’t be prouder of our team for crafting a game that exemplifies what we’re renowned for: unique genre hybrids focusing on gameplay first,” said Rickard Frisegård, CEO, Stunlock Studios. “With V Rising, we’ve elevated our craft to new heights. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every player who supported us during Early Access, empowering us to shape the game into what it is today. And to our new players, welcome to the finest iteration of V Rising Vampires!”

V Rising is rated T for Teen.
