Ghost Corps (Columbia Pictures) and Illfonic have announced that Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition will release on Nintendo Switch on October 19, exactly one year after releasing on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Spirits Unleashed is a 4v1 multiplayer game that pits four ghostbusters against one troublesome ghost.

The ‘busters can utilize iconic gear such as Proton Packs, PKE Meters, and Ghost Traps as they scour various locations for hauntings.

Ghosts have their own unique abilities, including possessing objects and the classic slime maneuver.

Between missions players can customize their ghostbuster and ghost by completing challenges and unlocking cosmetics and upgrades. The Firehouse station acts as the main hub, and original ‘busters Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Winston Zeddmore (Ernie Hudson) return to reprise their roles as mentors for the next generation of ghostbusters.

The Ecto Edition includes four DLC expansion packs that released earlier this year. Each DLC release added new maps, ghost types, and cosmetics and upgrades.

The Switch version also features full cross play with other platforms, which is always helpful for online multiplayer. Note that if you have fewer ‘busters, the empty spots will be filled with bots.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition will arrive on October 19 on Switch. It’s also available on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation, and Xbox. It’s rated E10+.
