Square Enix Collective, the indie-publishing arm of Square Enix, has announced a release date for Little Goody Two Shoes. The anime horror-adventure will release October 31 on Steam PC, PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.

The impressively long, near 5-minute trailer provides some clues as to what kind of game it is.

Actually, scratch that, I’m still totally lost.

Little Goody Two Shoes is billed as a “fairytale anime adventure with a dark twist.”

The game stars Elise, a young woman sporting a billowy red dress, who lives in a quaint fairytale village of Kieferberg. During the day she can interact with townsfolk and complete various tasks and minigames.

At night she explores the surrounding creepy woods, delving into dungeons and uncovering hidden mysteries.  Depending on the choices she makes, players can experience one of ten different endings that involve the fate of Elise and the village.

The isometric art style and gameplay draws from PlayStation 1 and 2 RPGs as well as 90s/00s anime.

The indie game is developed by Portuguese studio AstralShiftPro. It’s their second game following Pocket Mirror, an RPG developed using RPG Maker.

Little Goody Two Shoes will launch on October 31. It has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
