HoYoverse have announced another major content update for free-to-play action-RPG, Genshin Impact. The 4.0 version update, “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason,” will release on August 16, adding the nation of Fontaine

Fontaine is an island region surrounded by water, and features a steampunk theme with a dramatic judicial system that combines trials with operas.

The region’s focus on water isn’t just for show. Players can now take on special underwater quests while in Fontaine. Thanks to nice magic, you won’t have to worry about oxygen, but you will have to manage stamina.

Underwater combat features its own special abilities, including using those of aquatic creatures.

The update will add three new characters who hail from the new region: Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet, all of whom are siblings! Freminent is a 4-star Claymore user with ice attacks. Four-star Lynette wields a sword and anemo (air) powers, while Lyney is a 5-star fire magician and archer.

Lyney and Lynette will be available first for version 4.0 Event Wishes, with Freminet following alongside reruns of Zhongli and Tartaglia.

Fontaine is the fifth of at least seven planned regions in Teyvat.

Version 4.0 will arrive on August 16. Genshin Impact is available on PC, PlayStation, and mobile devices. It’s rated T for Teen.
