To celebrate its 2nd anniversary milestone, Pokémon Unite is adding one of the most infamous Legendary Pokémon to its ever-growing roster: Mewtwo. Did it really take two years to get Mewtwo?

Mewtwo is the 56th (!) playable Pokémon in online MOBA Pokémon Unite. Mewtwo is an All-Rounder who levels up to Mega Mewtwo X when reaching level 5 (Mega Mewtwo Y will be added as a separate license in Mid-August). He can use his powerful psychic attacks to slow opponents, shield himself, and teleport around the battlefield.

Players can earn the Unite license for Mewtwo X by completing the board game-like Crystal Cave Challenge event.

The 2nd anniversary update also includes a new battle type, ranked season, and battle pass.

Panic Parade is a new 5-on-5 survival mode, where players protect Tinkaton from waves of panicking Pokémon. Some defeated Pokémon can be captured and resummoned as temporary allies. Panic Parade will run as four separate events through August 21.

Battle Pass 17 adds the Captain Style (pirate-look) for Zacian and Greedent, as well as cute pirate outfits for your trainer. Battle Pass 17 will run through September 11.

Pokémon Unite is free-to-play on Switch and mobile devices. It’s rated E10+.
