Square Enix has released Dragon Quest spinoff Dragon Quest Treasures on Steam PC ($49.99).

The PC version features improved graphics and framerate over the original Switch version, and is officially verified for Steam Deck.

Dragon Quest Treasures is a prequel to Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age. It stars siblings Erik and Mia in a treasure-hunting adventure.

Unlike the main Dragon Quest series, Treasures isn’t a full-RPG. It’s more of a creature collector. The siblings befriend and recruit classic Dragon Quest monsters, and use their unique abilities to traverse the world and search for treasure. Better loot means fancier upgrades for the team home’s base, unlocking new abilities and increasing the roster of monsters.

An early adopter bonus for the Steam version of Dragon Quest Treasures is available right now. Purchase the game before July 28 to receive the following in-game goodies:

  • 10 Chimera Wings (Instantly warp back to base)
  • 15 Better Buddy Bullets (Used to recruit monsters)
  • 15 Fullheal Pellets (Fully restore a single ally)

Dragon Quest Treasures is available on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. It’s rated E10+ for crude humor, fantasy violence, mild language, and alcohol use.

In related DQ news, the more hardcore creature-collector-RPG spinoff, Dragon Quest Monsters, is getting a new entry. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is launching this December on Nintendo Switch.
