Sega has released 3D platforming adventure Sonic Frontiers on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Sonic Frontiers thrusts gaming’s infamous blue hedgehog into the all-new world of Starfall Islands.

Starfall Islands boasts an open world design. Sonic can explore each of its five zones outside of any set path. Battle enemies, discover secrets, solve puzzles — even go fishing. And it wouldn’t be a Sonic game without spinning through obstacle courses and racing around towering structures.

Portals found throughout each zone transport Sonic into cyberspace, presenting a series of fast-paced platforming challenges. The new combat system features dodges, parries, counters, and combos, along with a skill tree of unlockable moves and abilities. Sonic will need all these skills to battle the mysterious mechanical menace that threatens Starfall Islands.

The standard edition is available for $59.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99) includes several in-game goodies: Amy’s Memory Tokens, Portal Gear, Chaos Emerald Vault Keys, and glove and shoe costume options, as well as the digital art book and soundtrack.

Sonic Frontiers is rated E10+.
