Square Enix has released Echoes of Mana as a free-to-play RPG on iOS and Android mobile devices.

Fans looking for the next big RPG in the series need to temper their expectations: this is a typical mobile gacha game where players slowly earn characters and other items of various rarities. Players can unlock and earn familiar favorites from past games in the series, as well as all-new characters.

From hitting the one million player pre-registration goal, all players will receive the following bonuses:

  • 2,700 Spirit Crystals
  • 3-star Primm (Boomerang) ally
  • 4-star Memory Gem
  • 4-star Knitwit Icon
  • 4-star Benevedon Spirit Icon
  • 100 Awakening Orbs

Players will journey through the fantasy world searching for a magic sword. Combat and exploration use touch screen controls to unleash attacks and abilities. Players can also join forces in co-op battles against boss monsters.

“We’re thrilled to bring a brand-new Mana game to the mobile platform,” said Echoes of Mana Producer, Akira Haruta. “I hope that it can become a special place for Mana fans to come together.”

Launch events include login-bonuses and a ticket for a free 4-star ally.

Echoes of Mana is rated T for Teen.
