Following the big 2.0 update that added the third new region of Inazuma comes version 2.1, launching September 1st. The next update, called “Floating World Under the Moonlight,” adds two more islands to the archipelago of Inazuma, along with three new playable characters, and an end to the main story of this island nation.

The new locations are Watatsmi Island, the home base of the resistance forces, and Seirai Island, an isolated island surrounded by storms.

The three new characters are Raiden Shogun, Sangonomiya Kokmi, and Kujou Sara. Raiden Shogun is a five-star Electro polearm user who can support his team. Kokimi is a Hydro spellcaster, and the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island and leader of the resistance. Sara is the general of the Tenryou Commission, and wields her bow along with her Electro powers.

As teased during the last update, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn is also joining the roster as a free five-star character. There’s a slight catch, however. She’s only joining PlayStation users with version 2.1. PC and mobile players will have to wait until version 2.2.

Version 2.1 will also add a fishing mini-game, which I can’t believe wasn’t already available. Players will be able to fish across the continent of Teyvat to cook fish meat or earn special rewards, and even raise certain fish in their personal realm.

Genshin Impact is free-to-play on PlayStation, PC, and mobile devices. It’s rated T for Teen.
