Electronic Arts and developer Velan Studios (through EA Originals) have announced an open beta taking place this weekend for Knockout City on PC (Origin, Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The beta will test cross-play functionality between platforms, and is available for anyone who wants to download the game – though severs will only be up from 6am Pacific/9am Eastern on April 2nd through 6pm Pacific/9pm Eastern on April 4. You can preload the beta right now. Note that online play with consoles requires the relevant online subscription service, such as PlayStation Plus.

The Cross-play beta includes everything from the first beta – three maps, three special balls, and Team KO mode. It also adds a new map in Back Alley Brawl, the Sniper Ball, and new Face-Off and Diamond Dash modes. It also includes new cosmetic styles.

If you participate in the beta, you’ll earn the Epic Beta Blue Boosters Glider and Beta Brawler Player Icon when the full game launches. Any progress made during the beta will not carry over when the full game releases.

Knockout City is a free-to-play, team-based sports game that emulates a futuristic version of dodgeball. Players must throw balls at the enemy team, while they can try to dodge or catch balls to throw back. Special balls offer different effects, like Bomb Balls and Sniper Balls.

Knockout City is launching on May 21 on PC and consoles. It’s rated E10+.
