Square Enix and developer People Can Fly (Gears of War: Judgement) have released Outriders, a co-op RPG-Shooter, for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Outriders is set in the future, when an inhospitable Earth has led humanity to flee to the stars, and arrive on the alien planet of Enoch. Enoch is the perfect Earth-like world – except that everything wants to kill us.

Play as an Outrider, a trained vanguard who gains new powers from alien technology. Choose from one of four distinct classes, each with their own playstyle and skill tree of abilities. Collect new guns and gear and character customizations while blasting through aliens and enemy forces.

“It’s incredibly exciting to finally let players explore what we have been working on for the last five years,” said Bartek Kmita, Creative Director, People Can Fly. “With Outriders, we’ve made the game we always wanted to play. It’s been an amazing journey to get here, but this is hopefully only the beginning of something great. We can’t wait to see you on Enoch!”

The entire game can be played solo, or with up to two other players for online, drop-in co-op missions.

“Our External Studios team has been working closely with the talented team at People Can Fly on all facets of game and franchise development for over five years” said Jon Brooke, Co-Head of Studio, Square Enix External Studios. “Our shared vision of an epic dark sci-fi adventure that’s both a deep RPG and an intense top-class shooter experience is one that breaks genre conventions and provides an all-in-the-box complete experience from day one.

A free demo is still available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Outriders is rated M for Mature.
