Sega announced a new 3D platformer from the creators of Sonic the Hedgehog. Balan Wonderworld is due to release on PC and current and next-gen consoles in Spring 2021.

Young heroes Leo and Emma journey through the exotic fantasy world of Wonderworld, led by the mysterious maestro Balan.

Through their adventure, players can find and equip over 80 different costumes. Each costume is more than a cosmetic change, bestowing new powers such as walking on air, freezing time, crawling on webs, and spinning on enemies.

The game will support up to players. On Nintendo Switch two players can play together on a single split Joy-Con.

Balan Wonderworld represents the first time two of the original Sonic creators and Team Sonic co-founders, Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima, have collaborated in 20 years, and the first game from the new Balan Company studio brand.

Though Balan Wonderworld is described as a family-friendly game, it’s earned a T for Teen rating by the ESRB for Langauge, Suggestive Themes, Alcohol and Tobacco Use, and Violence.

Balan Wonderworld is coming Spring 2021 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The PS4 and XBO versions will upgrade to their next-gen counterparts for free.
