Spacebase Startopia is currently in closed beta and releasing in October on PC and consoles. Kalypso Media Group and developer Realmforge Studios have announced that the spaceship sim is available for pre-order on Steam (at 10% off), which includes instant access to the beta on PC.

The beta includes three tutorial maps, two campaign missions, and Skirmish modes. Skirmish mode includes 15 rooms, three tech tree levels, and randomized features and challenges.

Spacebase Startopia is a sequel to the 2001 spaceship management sim, Startopia, where you manage a growing colony of diverse alien species in a ring-shaped space base. Over 30 rooms can be built to satisfy the aliens’ needs and desires among three different decks.

The modern sequel will include a 10-mission singleplayer campaign, open sandbox mode, and multiplayer skirmish mode (both co-op and competitive) for up to four players.

The real-time strategy sim will be available in standard and extended editions. Both grant beta access. The Extended Edition also includes a digital soundtrack and several in-game goodies, including decorative statues and unique skins for the Fuzzy droids and recycler.

Spacebase Startopia will release on October 23 on PC (Steam – Windows, Mac, Linux), PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One. Spacebase Startopia has not yet been rated by the ESRB, but the original was T for Teen.
