Indie team Feel Free Games has released a big free update for adventure life sim Luma Island. Luma Island is also on sale for 20% off on Steam, making it a great time to jump in.
The Luma Island Pirates update features such a ridiculous amount of new content that I’m shocked it isn’t paid DLC.
The update adds a new large new Pirate Cove area that spans the length of the game, with multiple entrances in different zones. The Pirate Cove also adds new quests, new NPCs, new clothing, special minigames, and a pirate-themed house.
Plus, more Lumas to collect, each with special abilities, and a new Shipwright profession. The Shipwright has a unique quest to collect boat pieces to fix the pirate galleon in the Cove.
Three new game modes allow players to tweak their experience into a more carefree, or more a hardcore, playstyle. Cozy Mode turns off enemy attacks and player deaths, and decreases prices for upgrades and items.
Hero Mode is the opposite, with stronger, more aggressive enemies, lost loot on death, more expensive items, and rarer resources. Adventure Mode is the new balanced approach, with moderate challenges.
The update also includes improvements to the map and quest log, some overall balance tweaks (such as Mega Structure and housing costs), improved performance, and more achievements.
The Luma Island Pirates update is free for everyone. Existing players will have all their stuff packed up and/or refunded as they move to the new save file.
Luma Island is a farm and life sim without stamina or inventory limits. Up to four players can explore the beautiful island, delving into dungeons, gathering resources, and collecting Luma, the helpful native critters with special abilities.
