Six years after launch, management sim Planet Zoo is still going strong with its 20th(?) DLC pack. The Asia Animal Pack will add seven new animals and a new scenario when it launches on June 25 ($9.99).

The main draw of any Planet Zoo DLC are the new animals. The Asia Animal Pack adds the following new creatures:

  • Blackbuck
  • Bornean Pygmy Elephant
  • Honey Badger
  • Japanese Racoon Dog
  • Lion-Tailed Macaque
  • Nilgai
  • Pére David’s Deer

The DLC also adds over 100 new scenery pieces inspired by the Asian continent (which is a darn big region!). Flower lanterns, light boxes, colorful benches, and more.

The new campaign scenario is set in a downtrodden zoo in South Korea. The villainous Dominic Myers returns, proving that he’s still not as bad as certain real-world billionaires, as he tasks the player with restoring the zoo. Plus, there’s a Japanese Racoon Dog named Nugget.

The DLC is launching alongside a free update for all Planet Zoo players. The update will add the new Malabar Rose Butterfley, as well as new lantern scenery.

Frontier Developments has specialized in producing high-quality management sims over the last decade, such as Planet Coaster, and Jurassic World Evolution. We’ve generally been big fans, though Planet Coaster 2 was a notable drop in quality.

The developer has been going through sequelitis over the last few years. Jurassic World Evolution 3 was recently announced during Summer Game Fest.

Planet Zoo: Asia Animal Pack will release June 25. Planet Zoo is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and rated E for Everyone.
