This week sees the release of the 13th major expansion pack for The Sims 4. Growing Together adds a new neighborhood, expands the new infant life stage, and mixes in social compatibility for each Sim.
If you’re wondering why some of this wasn’t included in the base game — you’re not alone! Thankfully the actual infant addition was also added as a free update this week. No longer will newborns skip right to children, as parents know all too well.
Newborns will last only a few days in the Sims world. Afterwards, the little nuggets will age up into Infants. Infants have their own clothing, accessories, and most importantly, personality traits. They’ll also start crawling, which means baby proofing the home.

Growing Together adds Infant milestones and unlockable quirks that help define a child’s personality. Toddlers and children also get new quirks and aspirations that can help set them up for a successful (or not) life.
Growing Together also adds social compatibility based on a Sim’s traits and relationships, determining how well they get along with friends, family, and neighbors, from lifetime lovers to sworn enemies. The above trailer, “Meet the Michaelsons,” showcases this new feature.
The new town is San Sequoia, a coastal town located on a bay, clearly inspired by San Francisco. San Sequoia includes three neighborhoods: Anchorpoint Wharf, Gilbert Gardens, and Hopewell Hills. Between the playgrounds, theater, library, and splash pad, there’s a lot for families to do.
The Sims 4: Growing Together is available now on PC and Mac (Steam, Origin, Epic Games Store), PlayStation, and Xbox. If you purchase before April 27, you’ll receive the Outdoor PlayTime content pack, which includes a toddler slide and infant carrier.
